Automatically shutdown your PC after X minutes

Sometimes you might need to turn off your PC after, let's say, 30 minutes, because you are downloading something, but you don't have the time to wait for it to complete. Here is a quick guide on how to turn off your PC after an allotted time without using any special software.


First, press the Win + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.

After opening the Run dialog box, write "shutdown -s -t 3600" without the "" (where 3600 is the time in seconds to turn off the PC)

Press Enter and your PC will turn itself off after the 30 minutes have passes. If something happens and you don't want to turn the PC off anymore, open the Run dialog box by pressing Win + R again and write "shutdown -a" without the "" and press Enter.
